Northwestern Senior High School Reviews

We are grandparents of two Northwestern Senion High School students. Northwestern (K-12) is a top-quality school. I have been very impressed with the quality of leadership from the outstanding administration and teachers. They set high standards for the students and the students show respect toward them. The academic programs require hard work and discipline, but the students are motivated to learn and are performing well. We recently attended the Christmas Band Concert which was very good!! We have heard from other parents of students in years past who attended Northwestern, and they too, brag on how great the Northwestern Schools are. Keep up the good work. Don and Janet Connelly

Northwestern is one of the best schools in Indiana. #1 Science School in Indiana, Blue Ribbon School, 4 star school, and highest SAT scores in the area, Beat that ! Also extremely difficult classes and teachers, these kids are prepared for college!

There is a large variation in how the students are treated. If a student cares about a class, the teacher will care about him. If he doesn't care, the teacher doesn't care either. Some teachers are of poorer quality, but some teachers are very excellent. There is a bit of a drug problem, and the students are known for their wild partying on the weekends. Of course, coaches look the other way when these problems arise.

Too much of a difference in how children are treated. The wealthy and popular aren't punished for things while the others are picked on. A rule at the school is if the parent of a student works or is affiliated with the school then the student doesn't have to be punished. I've worked as a sub for the school and have heard the negligent comments made by the teachers in back rooms and lounges. Too many students falling through the cracks. It's sad!
